ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Position Summary:

Responsible for generating profits while maintaining operational and guest service standards.

Essential Functions:

  1. Be readily available/approachable for all guests.
  2. Assist GM in developing hotel budget and capital expenditure plans.
  3. Assist GM in developing and communicating selling strategies, utilizing inventory control and other forecasting tools.
  4. Deal with all guest concerns/complaints promptly.
  5. Thoroughly understand the hotel’s service culture. Ensure that all employees understand this philosophy.
  6. Ensure proper selection, training, counseling and motivation of hourly employees. Hire, train and motivate management employees.
  7. Ensure responsibilities and goals of managers are adhered to.
  8. Ensure guest service in all areas meets hotel standards.
  9. Assist department heads with in their times of need.

Education and Experience:

- Previous hotel supervisory experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respond promptly.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle any emergency.
