Job Description

As a Manager In Training (MIT) you will be reporting directly to the General Manager, this leadership position will function as a leader for all areas of operations, including Rooms and Food and Beverage. While operating as a leader you will be developing the necessary skills in all aspects of the general hotel operations along with the skills needed to fulfill a management position.The MIT will go through a 12 month rotation where you will gain hands-on, in-depth experience in hotel operations. You will rotate through the Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering and Food & Beverage and gain basic exposure to HR, Accounting and Sales. By rotating through each department, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of how hotels operate while developing your management skills.

The ideal candidate for this position

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Specific qualifications for the role include:

• Must be regionally mobile
• Graduate in any discipline or 2 or 4 year degree in hospitality and tourism or its equivalent
• 2 years experience in hotel operations, management, or related professional area
• Desire to develop into a hotel General Manager
• Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service
• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
• A friendly disposition and the ability to work as a team with others
• The ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, in addition to weekdays is a must
• Attention to detail 
• Must be able to pass a background check
