Wedding/Social Sales Coordinator Position offered at an Award Winning Resort
Position: Wedding/Social Sales Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Sales
Schedule: Minimum of 45 hours per week including many Saturdays and/or Sundays; days and times will vary based on need.
The primary function of this position is to review each event with client to produce a detailed plan for its execution which will be the blueprint for hotel operations to follow in production, while maximizing revenue from food, beverage, meeting room rental and group rooms. Be the primary contact at the hotel in the final stages and when the client is actually in-house.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS NEEDED:
Excellent sales and/or catering background with the ability to generate re-booking and increase current client business.
Must be highly organization with excellent priority setting skills…Demonstrated experience and ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources and time.
Communication …Excellent English or bi-lingual including English verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate well with customers/guests and team members.
Interpersonal…Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a diverse group of clients/customers and co-workers.
Customer service…Excellent customer service and sales experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma preferred and additional education in Sales & Marketing preferred but not required.
3-4+ years of sales and/or catering experience in the hotel industry preferred.
This position requires moderate physical requirements and requires the ability to bend, raise and sit / walk for 8 hours of an 8 hour day.
Must have average or above use of arms, hands, fingers, etc to operate office equipment and computers, and telephone.
Must have average or above hearing and vision to operate office equipment, computers, and telephones.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and coordinating weddings and social functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed
sales goals as established by the company.
Detail and service wedding and social catering business including but not limited to weddings, proms, bar
and bat mitzvahs.
Produce increased/new sales for the hotel and maximize revenue by up-selling current clients/customers.
Obtain detailed information regarding customers needs to use all banquet and meeting space to the
hotel’s best advantage, listing any changes from previously blocked space, times and functions, using
final arrangement guidelines.
Incorporate information relating to all functions booked into "Weekly Function" sheets.
Work closely with other sales people, food and beverage manager, front office manager and reservations manager.
Effectively communicate customers needs to all department managers relating to performing a service to the customers, including being available at important functions to greet customers and to insure proper service.
Review noteworthy customers routinely with Director of Sales and provide customer feedback.
Attend banquets, meetings and sales "blitzes" as requested by Director of Sales or by your involvement with social and business memberships; all to enhance the hotels’ reputation.
Be informed of competitors and aware of changes in their marketing approach to inform the hotel of any changes.
Think and use your good judgment in soliciting business in accordance with the guidelines set-up by the hotel.
Adheres to hotel policies and procedures, attends work on time as scheduled, and follows all safety and security rules and procedures.
