About This Job


The ideal candidate will take lead in repairing all HV AC/R equipment, keep track of all refrigerants and log all repairs pertaining to refrigeration/heater units and keep a working file on all kitchen equipment. Will be a self-motivated trainer and work with minimal supervision.  As with any Engineering position, this candidate will also assist in the daily operations in many capacities as required by our resort operations. In addition to the standard Engineer Level #1, #2 and #3 job functions, the Engineer Level #1 has primary responsibility for, but is not limited to the following:

  • Promptly and professionally responds to all requests for emergency repair services.
  • Professionally resolves repair issues or seeks assistance when needed.
  • Promptly communicates status of repair issues to Chief Engineer or in his absence the Director of Engineering, General Manager or VP of Operations.
  • Trains new and or lesser-experienced Engineering employees on Resort equipment systems and methods to minimize repair time.
  • Assists in the maintenance of needed supplies, materials and equipment to minimize repair time.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Must have  electrical, mechanical, and construction knowledge.
  • Must be a team player with the desire and ability to learn all operational aspects of our unique property, ability to communicate clearly written and verbally. Primary responsibilities consist of, but not limited to, promptly and professionally responding to all requests for emergency repair services. Professionally resolves repair issues. Trains new and or lesser experienced Engineering associates on Hotel equipment systems and methods to minimize repair time. Assists in the maintenance of needed supplies, materials and equipment to minimize repair time.
  • The ideal candidate must have knowledge in basic general building repair such as Ceramic tile, drywall repair, and furniture refinishing.
  • Performs preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis and complete work orders such as replace ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the Resort and keep the product up to quality standards.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor to major repairs and or replacements.
  • Ability in making minor to major repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.


  •  Universal EPA 608 license. 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HV AC/R. In addition to refrigeration troubleshooting skills, refrigeration recovery, electrical components and terminology, pump and motor replacements, and controls. 
  • Customer service skills
  • . Experience in Hotel/Resort operations desired but not required.
  •  Must own small tools.

Technical Requirements:

Ability to diagnose and repair major systems such as but not limited to electrical wiring, motors, impellers, boilers, pumps, valves and mechanical piping systems, HVAC controls and operations.

  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to converse in basic English.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must meet grooming standards.

$20.00 per hour
