Job Description

Position Summary:  Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Listen to customer needs, analyze this information and create tailored proposals. Negotiate and close sales while meeting/exceeding sales targets. Impress customers with tailored proposals, quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner. Work with management throughout the hotel and the Company

  1. Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts i.e.; outside sales calls, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, networking, internet prospecting, etc. to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.
  2. Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends and maintaining a healthy pipeline at all times.
  3. Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required. 
  4. Communicate accurate information for in house groups to assist operations in servicing them properly.
  5. Conduct site visits and prepare proposals to impress the client.
  6. Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events.
  7. Keep abreast of budgeted revenue goals and develop action plans to achieve goals.
  8. Organize and/or attend scheduled sales department, and related meetings
  9. Ensure all guest checks, payments, master folios and advance deposits are submitted to accounting.
  10. Represent company at trade association meetings.
  11. Adhere to hotel grooming standards.
  12. Perform any additional tasks requested by management.

Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, business or related field from a four-year college or university or high school diploma or GED plus related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and ability.

Experience: 3-5 years hotel sales experience with proven results. Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

Skills and Abilities:  Effective listening, verbal, written negotiation and closing skills.  Understand market dynamics and prepare presentations/proposals tailored to individual clients.  Ability to meet/exceed expectations for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and close the business.

Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, recruitment, supervision, training, and motivation of managers. 

Experience:  Ability to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and other sales software such as, Galaxy, Envision and Delphi (Salesforce), Travelclick.  STR report knowledge a plus.

Hours required:  Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. May be required to work weekends and holidays.

Ability to do some travel

The 238 modern-designed guest rooms will occupy the first 15 floors of this multi-story high-rise condo-hotel building –121 luxury condominiums are for sale on the 16th floor and above.
