Server is responsible for greeting, selling/order taking and serving guests in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures. Complies with all guest service basics such as uniforms and proper guest greeting.  Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.  Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.  Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant, warm, timely and friendly manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, and prices.
  • Accurate and prompt guest order taking.
  • Have full knowledge of all beverage lists.
  • Prompt submission of food orders with the kitchen in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Deliver food and beverage in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Pick up and check food to ascertain appearance, temperature and portions are correct from kitchen.
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
  • Prepare guest checks accurately and present prior to departing guest room.
  • Work a variety of shifts as needed including days, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Report all tips in compliance with Company policy and IRS regulations.
  • Follow Company, hotel, and brand policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation polices when handling food and beverage.
  • Perform any other duties, as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a high volume, fine dining restaurant strongly preferred.
  • Employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly walk, stand and/or crouch on narrow, slippery and/or moving surfaces.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise.
