Job Description


Receives and verifies all incoming items and keeps records on incoming and outgoing supplies by performing the duties as indicated below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (Other duties may be included)

  • Receive all incoming packages and good for the hotel guests and departments.
  • Logged all package and goods information to the hotel system Bircshtreet / Alice
  • Compares identifying information and verifies quality, counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and notifies supervisor of any discrepancies. Routes items to departments.
  • Uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Accurately receives all incoming merchandise according to hotel specifications and market list.
  • Creates and revises dead stock list on a weekly basis.
  • Notifies other departments at the time of arrival of merchandise.
  • Properly rotate items, price, and store incoming merchandise.
  • Properly mark purchase orders for each and every item received, specifying quantity, date and all necessary information.
  • Adhere to all Sanitation and Safety Standards and Guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Non-essential duties include helping the storeroom clerks with stocking merchandise, inventory and assisting purchasing staff when necessary; making deliveries to departments when necessary

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, Excel and guest logging program.


Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
