HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER

Donohoe Hospitality (DHS), a well-established, award-winning Washington, DC-based hospitality management leader, is hiring as we expand our hotel portfolio to Las Vegas. We are searching for a talented Housekeeping Manager to join our opening team at the Hampton Inn & Suites/Home2 Las Vegas Convention Center.

This uniquely branded property includes 100 stylish extended-stay suites at Home2 and 150 upscale guest rooms at Hampton Inn & Suites, state-of-the-art meeting space and fitness facilities, and a large pool with beverage service. Opening in April 2020, the property is strategically located steps away from the Las Vegas Convention Center and 4 blocks from the heart of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.

Position Summary:

Coordinates the daily operations of hotel housekeeping and laundry services for the two teams of the dual branded property.

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain all hotel standards while remaining within agreed budgets on guest and cleaning supplies, salaries and any costs, which apply to the department.
  2. Meet with all relevant department heads and managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping department.
  3. Monitor closely the condition and maintenance of all accommodation and public areas.
  4. Order/purchase all related cleaning chemicals and materials.
  5. Responsible for stock levels, stock taking and control of linen room and uniform departments.
  6. Hire, train, motivate department personnel. Conduct all performance appraisals.
  7. Inspect guest’s rooms after cleaning.
  8. Train staff in appropriate use of supplies, cleaning agents and equipment.
  9. Conduct linen inventory.
  10. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guests special needs.
  11. Administer guest lost and found program.
  12. Assist the General Manager in resolving guest complaints concerning the Housekeeping Department.
  13. Communicate room status changes to Front Desk.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, these contained in the employee handbook.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in training, supervising and mentoring multicultural and multilingual staff.
  • Previous supervisory housekeeping experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at onetime.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Good communication skills.
