About This Job

Title: JD’s Bartender

Reports To: JD’s Manager/Supervisor

Department: JD’s 

Classification: Bartender (PT or FT)

 

Position Summary: 

 The Scottsdale Plaza Resort is in search of a professional, high-energy Bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical and exciting new beverages to our customers. You will be a leader and do so by example. You will be responsible to increase bar sales as well as our regular clientele base and know how to do so because you have done it before. Your experience has taught you how to read customers and you know how to give an experience rather than just take an order. To Succeed as our Bartender, you should have a neat appearance, have an engaging and friendly personality and be willing to go above and beyond for your customer. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable and personable.


Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences and making recommendations.

  • Informing customers about new beverages and specials.

  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.

  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.

  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.

  • Handling, cash, credit and room charge transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and balancing the cash drawer.

  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning bar top/ tables, washing glasses, utensils and cleaning equipment.

  • Developing new cocktail recipes.

  • Planning drink menus

  • Training


 

Minimum Job Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma.

  • Title 4 Alcohol certificate and food handlers card.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Experience training others following a training program

  • Excellent wine, beer and spirit knowledge

  • Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.

  • Basic Math and Computer skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong multi- task and time management abilities.

  • Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools techniques.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
