Job Summary:

The National Sales Manager is required to sell the assigned properties as a meeting/convention location. The position is assigned a productivity goal. The National Sales Manager is required to sell to local and national meeting planners: sleeping rooms, meeting space, audio visual and food/beverage. This position will also represent the property at trade shows. The National Sales Manager will be required to achieve goals assigned by VP of Sales & Marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prospects, solicits, sells, and closes business for the hotel including:
    • Preparing contracts
    • Rev Maxing Business
    • Preparing and presenting effective proposals
    • Managing client database
    • Monitoring client correspondence
    • Maintaining well organized documentation
    • Routine correspondence with clients on the phone, e-mail, and outgoing mail
    • Travels to the properties on a routine basis
    • Ability to communicate and compute statistical data to company DOSMs, General Manager, Corporate staff.
  • On occasion will attend National tradeshows, sales missions and other relevant activities associated with specific market segments.
  • Conducts and schedules site tours for visiting meeting planners.
  • Maintains sales goals
  • Maintains market segment as assigned by the VP of Sales & Marketing.
  • Contributes to a positive workplace environment by demonstrating superior customer service skills in dealing with internal and external customers, speaking positively when referring to the Heritage Hotels & Resorts, and acting and speaking in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent plus two years related experience and/or training.

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Ability to learn industry database software including Delphi and Opera.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to meet sales goals

Ability to demonstrate flexibility related to job tasks when required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Knowledge of the hospitality industry
