Description

The Director of Poker isresponsible for the successful operation of the Poker Room, assuring integrity of the games, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring guests have a favorable gaming experience.

Responsibilities

Core Service Standards

  • CLEAN: Must make the property shine and look impeccable while maintaining a neat CLEAN and crisp personal appearance.
  • SAFE: Must make guests feel SAFE and comfortable through creating a worry free, carefree experience.
  • FAST: Provide FAST and efficient service with accuracy. Meet service time requirements and anticipate guest needs.
  • FRIENDLY: Greet each guest with FRIENDLY welcomes, making eye contact and smiling. Use H.E.A.R.T. steps to ease guest concerns. Say thank you to departing guests.
  • FUN: Work passionately as a team to create a FUN experience both for everyone who works and plays here.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for all poker functions including the inventory of poker equipment and cards.
  • Directs the Poker room personnel including hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Responsible for live and tournament poker operation of the casino.
  • Safeguarding company assets located within the poker department.
  • Establishing and enforcing rules and regulations of the casino that comply with gaming regulations.
  • Planning and directing staffing, training and development of poker personnel.
  • Plan and manage business growth while conducting regular analysis on trends and forecasting.
  • Design and institute departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepares budget and manages department to maximize revenues and control expenses. 
  • Communicate and ensure consistent enforcement of company philosophies and human resource policies.
  • Effectively handles customer disputes while maintaining the security and integrity of the games and customer satisfaction. 
  • Ability to extend complementary services in accordance with the approved comp matrix. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain mental concentration for significant periods of time
  • Basic computer skills

Educational Requirements

  • Seven to ten years experience in all aspects of Poker with a 4 year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts, including late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work extended hours across all shifts in a 24/7 work environment.
  • Ability to be exposed to alcohol, smoke, bright lights, and noise.
  • Ability to walk up and down 31 stairs to the Casino floor.

Working Conditions

  • 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 2000 employees
  • Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
  • You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
  • Office environment.
