Description

The Vice President of Slot Operations is responsible for the successful operation of the Slot Department and assuring that guest have a favorable gaming experience.

Responsibilities

Core Service Standards

  • CLEAN: Must make the property shine and look impeccable while maintaining a neat CLEAN and crisp personal appearance.
  • SAFE: Must make guests feel SAFE and comfortable through creating a worry free, carefree experience.
  • FAST: Provide FAST and efficient service with accuracy. Meet service time requirements and anticipate guest needs.
  • FRIENDLY: Greet each guest with FRIENDLY welcomes, making eye contact and smiling. Use H.E.A.R.T. steps to ease guest concerns. Say thank you to departing guests.
  • FUN: Work passionately as a team to create a FUN experience both for everyone who works and plays here.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops and manages the budget for the Slot Department.
  • Leads processes, programs and efforts to establish, develop and maintain an effective working relationship with Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Agency.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling levels to ensure the gaming experience for guests and work experience for team members is an enjoyable one.
  • Lead departmental efforts in aiding and establishing Live! Casino·Hotel as an effective, positive contributor and participant in the community. 
  • Training and development of staff ensure they are successful in providing the highest level of guest service to ensure guests have a positive gaming experience each time they interface with a slot department team member.
  • Directs and manages slot equipment change outs, placement and repair.
  • Review slot activities and promotional status with the General Manager.
  • Monitor and adjust slot equipment performance to ensure Live! Casino·Hotel is equal or exceeds the standards of the competition in the mid-Atlantic region.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of gaming regulations, internal controls, and gaming devices.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to work in an open dialogue environment with a competitive spirit. 
  • Knowledge of state and local tax laws, gaming laws, and banking regulations.
  • Ability to quickly analyze problems and present solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to multi-task projects. 
  • Ability to work extended hours across all shifts in a 24/7 work environment.

Educational Requirements

  • Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience with leadership, operational and management in multi device 24-hour casino slot department.  Five plus years of experience in managing people, processes and budgets.
  • A four (4)-year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements

  • Casino is over 300,000 square feet and requires ability and energy to move about it with a true sense of urgency.
  • Standing 10%
  • Walking 50%
  • Sitting 40%
  • Keyboarding 40%
  • Use of going up and down 31 stairs multiple times per day and elevators.

Working Conditions

  • 24/7 high energy casino with over 300,000 sq. ft. of gaming and entertainment space and approximately 3000 employees.
  • Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, and loud noises.
  • You will work in an environment where smoking is allowed.
