Job Summary

The Vice President Tax partners with executive leadership to develop the organization's corporate tax strategy and oversees operations of the corporate tax function. Contributes to strategic planning direction and goal setting for the department or function. Recommends policies practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience.
  • Prior management experience is required.
  • Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring performance management and termination.
  • Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers.
  • Well versed with different tax systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements strategies for minimizing organizational tax liability and ensuring compliance with tax code changes.
  • Directs the review and submission of tax related documents or filings which may include federal state or local tax returns declarations or extensions.
  • Reviews and approves tax planning reports including the organization's tax obligations and payments.
  • Oversees the work of external tax consultants or auditors and participates in the audit process as needed.
  • Carries out different types of tax analysis and offering required support to the company. These income returns can be of different type and nature- federal state and international.
  • Ensures the appropriate accounting is being carried out for income taxes.
  • Contributes to strategic planning direction and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Establishes departmental policies practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
