Position Summary: 

We seek a positive, talented, aggressive, energetic, creative and highly self-motivated Sales & Catering Manager to join our team. This position will solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business in the business current markets through various efforts focusing primarily, but not limited to, the corporate market.

     Scope of this Position:

  • In preparing for this position, candidate will have worked in at least the following departments or positions: Hotel Sales.

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience

  • This position reports to: Director of Sales & Catering

  • Must have experience at properties of similar size and quality

  • Position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and week-ends

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Analyzing competition, market trends and customer needs.

  • Soliciting and servicing major accounts within the business current markets.

  • Managing sales-related activities and marketing efforts for the property

  • Maximizing and enhancing room and F&B revenues to meet and exceed the hotel's revenue and GOP objectives.

  • Other responsibilities include building solid business relationships with local companies, creating innovative means for attracting and retaining groups while maximizing profitability and generating revenue

  • Building solid business relationships with corporate accounts, creating innovative means for attracting & retaining groups, while maximizing profitability & generating revenue to meet & exceed hotels budgeted & YOY goals.

  • Prospect new clients daily, weekly outside sales calls, conduct site inspections, & servicing accounts.

  • Assist Director of Sales & Catering with selling 4,000 sq. ft. of meeting space

  • Work with the Kitchen Manager to ensure a well coordinated meeting and banquet operation for your meetings & events

  • Be present at functions to oversee event details and manage client expectations

  • Strong follow up on all sales leads, creating/sending proposals, & quick turn around on agreements.

  • Ability to multitask and collaborate with all disciplines; sales, operations, & revenue management.

  • Understands team goals & implements strategy to support those objectives.

  • Collaborate with revenue management regarding group pricing strategies

  • Understands sales process to maximize revenue contribution from all segments.

  • Other responsibilities include daily use of the Delphi program, attending weekly sales meetings, weekly revenue meetings, & all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned by the General Manager.

  • Understanding of the local Fox Valley area market, analyzing competition, customer needs, & communicating those trends.

  • Exercise hotel policies & procedures in accordance with the duties above.


  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

  • Strong administrative skills including business writing.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Previous Hotel Sales experience (preferably with a national brand, with a proven track record for success in sales and revenue generation)

  • Exceptional service skills, with strong ability to foster effective relationships with all levels of staff, management and clientele

  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to create a motivating work environment

  • Excellent organization skill and ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

    Educational/Professional Requirements: 

  • Two years hotel sales preferred

  • Knowledge of Hilton OnQ Property Management System preferred

  • Knowledge of DELPHI sales tool preferred

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • This is not an entry level position.
