This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. 
Maintenance Technician Position Overview:

  • The position involves high guest contact and presents the first point of contact for all of our guests
  • responsible for assisting guests with questions and concerns
  • answers and processes all maintenance calls received
  • handles all special requests for services or information, in accordance with standard policies and procedures
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Work to resolve guest challenges, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Maintain ongoing maintenance for operations of the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/H units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, roof exhausts, etc.
  • Monitor and coordinate the services performed by outside contractors in accordance to all contracts, leases, service agreements and warranties.
  • Ensure timely response to requests for service by guest, employees and management to include repair or replacement of all interior fixtures and furnishings.
  • Schedule all work to be done on a daily basis at a minimum of inconvenience to guests and employees.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and on time by studying work schedules and estimating worker-hour requirements for completion. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Clean and maintain the chemical balance of the pool to ensure a healthy environment for all guests.
  • Conduct continuing inspection of buildings and grounds to ensure compliance with OSHA, fire and safety laws.
  • Recommend and/or take action to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of hazards.
  • Respond to all major emergencies & coordinate effectively the saving of lives & assets.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as training, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Reward employees who meet/exceed expectations.
  • Computer skills required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a hotel maintenance technician
  • Plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or carpentry skills preferred.
  • Good understanding of the English language.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds.
  • Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8-hours in length. Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
