Position Summary: The night auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions.

  1. Thorough knowledge of the hotel property and ably guide guests and answer questions.
  2.  Assist guests with arrival and departure from hotel, while providing the guest with excellent guest service. Check guest in and out and coordinates with Housekeeping and Maintenance as needed.
  3.  Greet customers immediately and with a friendly and sincere welcome. Use a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as restaurant hours and local attractions.
  4.  Promptly answer telephone using positive and clear communication.
  5.  Reconciles and completes all daily front desk agents' work.
  6.  Run a final trial balance to post rooms and close the day.
  7.  Research and perform revenue audit function.
  8.  Upon completion of audit, input information into general ledger system.
  9.  Provide next day reports to Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Executive Office.
  10.  Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity.
  11.  Preventing problems and handling stressful situations in a professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and resort profitability.
  12.  Demonstrates the ability to show tact, courtesy and siplomacy in difficult situations.
  13.  Ensure the accuracy and completion of all folios, room changes, credit approvals, etc.
  14.  Display a high degree of professionalism at all times.
  15.  Assist in the delivery of Housekeeping items as needed.
  16.  Prepare and deliver In-Room Dining menu items as needed.
  17. Ability and willingness to relocate guests in the event that the Hotel is oversold.

Education: High school education or GED plus 2 years' administrative hotel front desk experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability. 

Experience: Minimum of 2 years' hotel/resort experience at the front desk, accounting, or night audit is preferred or other hospitality guest service experience. 

Hours required: Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. Must be able to work weekends.

  • This is an overnight position (shift is typically 11pm to 7:30am)
  • Ability to verbally communicate with guests.
  • Ability to follow directions and handle stress with ease.
  • Able to handle cash or credit card transactions.
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Outlook applications. General office equipment and cash register knowledge.
  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to push, pull, carry, bend, stoop, and upward reaching motions.
  •  Able to work in a team and be detail oriented
