The Chief Engineer provides guidance and leadership to the Maintenance Department, ensuring consistent compliance to Hotel and CHC policies and quality customer service while maximizing departmental efficiencies and controlling costs.
-Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from College or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
- minimum of 2 years hotel management experience as a Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer
-High School Diploma required
Ensures maintenance/repair service level is maintained to include electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating and cooling, structural facilities, grounds and parking areas.
Ensures timely response to requests for services by guests, associates, and management to include repair or replacement of all interior fixtures and furnishings.
Monitors the level and quality of services performed by outside contractors in accordance to all lease agreements, service contracts, and warranties.
Maintain accurate records to include serial numbers of all equipment.
Ensure implementation and documentation of ongoing Preventive Maintenance and Energy Conservation program.
Maintains emergency procedures and conducts regular bi- monthly fire drills.
Maintains adequate inventory of tools and supplies for maximum associate productivity.
Controls expenses through proper use of the checkbook and Purchase order procedures.
Controls payroll costs through proper use of CHIPA and its reports.
Acts as key master to control all hotel keys issued to staff.
All Preventative Maintenance is conducted and documented for all rooms, kitchen, laundry, and HVAC.
