Hyatt is seeking a hands-on Director of Quality Assurance to support eCommerce efforts, as well as new, innovative systems for Hyatt customers, guests, and associates.  This individual will lead teams of manual and automation test engineers embedded in cross-functional web and mobile app development teams comprised of quality team members, software engineers, product managers, and product designers.

As Hyatt is in the midst of a digital transformation, this leader will also play a critical role in the enterprise adoption of the lean-agile development methodology and will work closely with Product Engineering, Product Design, and the Product Management leadership teams to plan and execute an iterative development cycle in a lean-agile environment and collaborate with DevOps to iterate on software pipeline improvements that will allow the teams to deliver new software and features to production early and often utilizing automated procedures.

  • Leverage extensive experience and judgment to assist testers embedded in Agile teams across the globe in the design, development, and execution of manual and automated tests of solutions on and Hyatt mobile applications
  • Manage the career growth of team members through coaching, mentorship, goal setting, and ongoing training/development
  • Analyzes the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives, leveraging existing and new technical and team capabilities.  Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting team structure and system infrastructure company-wide
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
  • Is a key member of the team that formulates the strategies of the Global Product Engineering team and captures this strategy in a way that resonates with multiple stakeholders in the organization, from subordinates to senior leadership
  • Leads department in support of departmental objectives; encourages feedback and shares with upper management to improve productivity and team dynamics



  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 13+ years of progressively complex related experience
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in building and executing manual and automation tests on web, mobile app, and service applications
  • 4+ years of experience in driving quality framework and architecture changes geared toward reducing software cycle times while improving quality
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps practices, including leveraging systems like Jenkins to automate tests in a CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience building behavior driven tests using Gherkin or similar test languages
  • Successful experience managing multiple teams often in a multi-tiered organization (experience managing 3+ managers) as direct reports and responsible for coaching their career development and performance
  • Successfully led a multi-function organization. Proven ability to identify, articulate and communicate recommendations to senior management
