About This Job

As part of the engineering department, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas
  • Maintain property cosmetic appearancein accordance with the property preventative maintenance procedures and standard guidelines
  • Performrepairs andpreventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and/or public spaces as required.
  • Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment
  • Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry
  • Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs
  • Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention
  • Monitor inventory and forecast upcoming levels of demand for specific parts needed to successfully repair and maintain hotel functionality.
  • Provide detailed information to engineering assistant so that he/she may order correct parts/supplies needed.
  • Tasks including Repairing, Painting, touching up, Cleaning, replacing, as it relates to: Doors & frames, lock sets, ceilings, Crown Molding, Base boards, T V s, phones, painted surfaces, caulking, Vinyl, Furniture, weather stripping, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, AC systems, light fixtures, grout, Drape hardware, art work, and miscellaneous repairs.


  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred.
  • Good customer skills are also required.

Work Environment And Ada Requirements:

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Mustbeable to work any shift and long hours / holidays when necessary.
  • Must be able to respond to calmly and make rational decisions, when handling difficult situations.
  • Must be capable of maneuveringfor prolonged periods of time.
  • Auditory and visual range of immediate area required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, as well as, maneuver up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, reach, and file appropriate paperwork.
