Crestline Hotels & Resorts is on the hunt for its next Area Human Resources Manager to oversee the administrative, recruiting, and employee relation aspects to a portfolio of hotels in greater MD/DC/VA region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience providing HR leadership in a multi-unit setting and understands how to balance the crucial, ever changing dynamics of urban hotels. Situated as the primary HR Business Partner to these hotels, you will have the opportunity to guide the hotels in all recruiting, employee relations, and other key measures to affect the successful operation of each individual hotel.  

This is a remote position, however this individual needs to be in the greater MD/DC/VA as quarterly travel to the properties is expected.  

As an Area HR Manager, you will: 

  • Be responsible forfinding great talent and ensuring those recruited have a smooth on-boarding experience.  
  • Act as an advisor to managers on all employee needs and concernsby providing feedback and recommendations to enhance the workplace 
  • Use your effective communicationskills to support open communications with your hotel business partners 


  • All administrative duties related to the applicant life cycle to include:
  • Posting, sourcingand recruiting for all needed positions for assigned properties 
  • Conducting management reference checks
  • Initiatingnew hire onboarding 
  • Inputting Payroll Changes as needed by hotels
  • Communicate effectively both in written word and orallywith business partners 
  • Have knowledge of all job descriptions and SOP’s.
  • Ensure property has necessary tools, resources,and training to facilitate effective onboarding and benefit administration. 
  • Maintain relationship with outside sources for recruiting efforts to fill open positions in a timely manner, both temporary and permanent.
  • Assistwith any other projects or requests as needed by the Corporate Regional Director of Human Resources. 
  • Ensure that all hourly employee and management reviews are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper execution of the AES and action planning process is implemented and executed. 
  • Conduct quarterly property visits and audit random employee files to ensure compliance expectations are met.
  • Review census data each payroll and providefeedback to hotels where focus or changes are needed. 
  • Review property turnover statistics monthly to ensure recruiting actions remain aligned with property retention needs. 
  • Ensure properties are compliant with Crestline’s Human Resource Internal Controls.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university/college plus at least two (2) years of related human resources experience; or high school diploma or equivalent plus at least three (3) years of related experience
  • Computer Skills: You do not need to be a programmer, but you must be comfortable with all areas of Microsoft Office, heavy email exchanges, etc. 
  • Strong passion for recruiting – while you may not be a recruiter, you have enjoy going out and creatively finding the best talent
  • Persuasive communication and time management skills – you will be working with various General Managers and will have to be able to flex to their needs and those of the properties
