Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the scheduling, cleaning, and inspection of all guest rooms and public space
  • Responsible for taking action when standards are not upheld and perform praise when standards exceed expectations
  • Make certain that assignments are appropriately staffed and that employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections to check the completion of work assignments
  • Discuss general housekeeping procedures with personnel of the assigned area; recommend and implement changes in procedures
  • Take necessary action to correct any mechanical, structural, or other engineering condition in need of repair or replacement
  • Monitor and ensure the training of new personnel
  • Recommend to management various personnel action, including but not limited to, performance appraisals and discipline. With management, supervisor must be prepared to perform personnel action with associates
  • Assist with the training, supervision and motivation of all housekeeping staff.
  • Inspects VIP units prior to arrivals
  • Ensures all housekeeping equipment is in proper working order
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and their role in assisting during these times
  • Perform ongoing quality inspections of units and take corrective action as needed to address quality deficiencies particularly in regards to housekeeping issues
  • Coordinate daily operational needs with front office and property management staff
  • Perform minor and general maintenance functions as required
  • Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from occupied rooms
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety issues (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.) Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor
  • Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events
  • Interacts with team members in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the housekeeping team
  • Maintains a professional appearance.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent phone etiquette
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be highly detailed orientated
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Must have exceptional detail in follow-up
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must possesses excellent communication skills
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Must always ensure a teamwork environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
