Position Summary: The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of cloud architecture and solutions on Amazon Web Services. This position requires broad knowledge and expertise in public cloud provider technologies and have the ability to innovate and propose cloud-based services and solutions. The role influences architectural direction for the cloud platform, CI/CD pipeline, security management, with goal of reducing operating costs through process design and automation.
The Solutions Architect will design, test, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot systems and various complex cloud architectures to identify issues, correct performance, manage costs, and provide operational solutions. In conjunction with Director of Infrastructure, the position defines strategies and initiatives for implementing cloud architecture for infrastructure services, solutions, security, and technologies.
The Cloud Solutions Architect will also be responsible for securing the AWS architecture including support of Active Directory, Identity and Access Management and related security best practices for user identity management frameworks across all cloud environments.
The position provides mentoring and guidance on best practices for Cloud technologies across all of IT. This requires involvement in multiple projects at one time and understanding of how to educate and mentor teams with little to no cloud experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Percent 60 | Description Cloud Solutions Architecture Design, create and implement solutions that solve business needs and challenges using cloud technologies and services. Research and recommend improvements to architecture design, processes and provide innovative solutions. Participate in design reviews of architecture for cloud services, data and application deployment. Collaborate across technology teams to build-out the components for a highly scalable cloud infrastructure. Minimize and mitigate risks introduced by existing and new information technologies and services through diligent review and security practices. Mentor and provide guidance for other Infrastructure, Security and Operations team members regarding cloud technologies. Develop continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) pipelines to automate deployments of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), websites, and applications to deploy fast, often, & automated |
20 | Innovation/Proof of Concepts:
Provide cross department updates on new technology offerings and solutions. Participate in POC development and projects to prove out new technologies and solutions. Strong comprehension ability to understand vision, strategy, prioritization, requirements, and issues presented by Stakeholders, Business Owners, and Team members

10 | System Engineering: Ensure reliable cloud and data center environments. Participates in and leads complex technical projects providing architecture and design guidelines for business systems.

10 | Project Engagement Partner with project manager to coordinate, lead and implementation projects to meet business expectations. Work with project managers to develop timelines, dates and overall delivery of projects. Engage with internal teams, project teams and business areas to discuss issues and document or explain technical solutions in a simplified meaningful way. |
