Position Summary: The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of cloud architecture and solutions on Amazon Web Services. This position requires broad knowledge and expertise in public cloud provider technologies and have the ability to innovate and propose cloud-based services and solutions. The role influences architectural direction for the cloud platform, CI/CD pipeline, security management, with goal of reducing operating costs through process design and automation. 

The Solutions Architect will design, test, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot systems and various complex cloud architectures to identify issues, correct performance, manage costs, and provide operational solutions. In conjunction with Director of Infrastructure, the position defines strategies and initiatives for implementing cloud architecture for infrastructure services, solutions, security, and technologies.

The Cloud Solutions Architect will also be responsible for securing the AWS architecture including support of Active Directory, Identity and Access Management and related security best practices for user identity management frameworks across all cloud environments.

The position provides mentoring and guidance on best practices for Cloud technologies across all of IT. This requires involvement in multiple projects at one time and understanding of how to educate and mentor teams with little to no cloud experience.

Skills and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology with related Cloud and Systems Engineering experience.
• AWS certified Solutions Architect, Professional is preferred. 
• Hands-on experience on implementing Cloud Solutions using various AWS Services including EC2, VPC, S3, Glacier, Lambda, Directory Services, Cloud Formation, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, DynamoDB, Athena and Redshift.
• Hands-on experience on providing Security in Architecting and securing cloud environments using IAM, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, Trusted Advisor, Security Groups, 
• Strong working knowledge of specific cloud services such as: Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Route 53, and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC).
• Experience analyzing and implementing cloud access control mechanisms and security methodologies.
• Strong experience and knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
• Experience designing and implementing production workloads in VMware and Cloud environments.
• Outstanding communications and initiative with excellent troubleshooting skills.
