The ideal candidate for this position

The Hotel Indigo Traverse City is looking for an experienced Rooms Division Manager to assist as the strategic business leader of the properties Rooms Operations. Areas of responsibility include Front Office, Valet, and Housekeeping Operations. This position will need to develop and implement departmental strategies and ensure the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures Rooms Operations meeting the brands' standards, targets customer needs ensures team members' satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues, and maximizes the financial performance of the operation.

The essential functions: 

Ensure that sufficient staffing is present to meet daily business demands. 

Actively participate in training and continuing education of all Rooms Division service staff. 

Responsible for actively recruiting and hiring all Front Office, Valet, and Housekeeping positions.

Oversee the Housekeeping Manager and team to ensure room standards are met and rooms are turned property prior to guest usage. 

Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a professional and personalized manner. 

Maintain regular compliance with the IHG/Hotel Indigo brand standards.

Identify trends.

Make and execute the necessary decisions to keep property moving forward towards the achievement of goals.

Monitor rooms division financial performance against budget.

Coaches and supports operations team to effectively manage occupancy and rate, wages, and controllable expenses. 

Become the IHG Rewards Club Champion

Understand Opera

Develop a system to enable team members to understand guest satisfaction. 

Respond and handle guest complaints.

Understand and communicate.

Must have a professional image and personality exuding confidence and leadership skills while encouraging safe and efficient hotel operations.

Serve as a general guest information source. 

Coordinate arrival, departure, and special needs of IHG Reward Club members.
