Description

The HR Business Partner II is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting the Human Resources function. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain a high quality of guest service according to Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. Mission Statement and F.A.S.T. Track Values Statement.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all property employees.
  • Administers performance evaluation program and revises, as necessary.
  • Assists with hiring effort for all employees; assists with new-employee orientations; writes and places advertisements.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and termination counseling.
  • Performs administrative tasks including but not limited to maintaining property organization charts, data entry and system maintenance in HRIS.
  • Maintains and audits HR Information System records, employee files and compiles reports from database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Administers corporate level company Intranet pages for human resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
  • Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards. 
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow Employees, and Vendors.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills, Education and Other Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, or
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, or
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration
  • Excellent consulting skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
