Position Summary:

Drives the hotel vehicles transporting hotel guests to/from assigned destinations safely, efficiently and courteously.  Adheres to all local and state driving laws. Ensures safety and security of passengers and vehicle.

Essential Functions:

• Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
• Transport guests to and from the hotel using the designated shuttle/van.
• Assist guests by lifting and carrying guest baggage on and off the shuttle van as needed.
• Provide information and respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, attractions, directions, etc. in order to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.  Use equipment only as intended.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Inspect vehicle for damage; document required repairs.
• Inspect vehicle for operating condition and rectify any deficiencies (i.e., tire pressure, oil/fuel/water levels).
• Inspect vehicle for cleanliness, inside and out; rectify any deficiencies.
• Communicate vehicle maintenance needs to Supervisor.
• Attain thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Perform work duties in accordance with Company safety and security policies and procedures, as well as in accordance with posted OSHA, HazCom, and Blood Borne Pathogen regulations and applicable state and local regulations.
• Report and store lost-and-found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
• Other duties as assigned, of when the employee is capable of performing.

 Requirements:

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
• Must have 5 years of driving experience, no more than 2 minor moving violations, and no major driving violations.
• Must have a clean driving record and a valid, current, and non-probationary driver’s license.
• Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• High school or equivalent education required. 
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, often for a minimum of 2 hours at a time.
• Must be able to maneuver into and out of the shuttle/van and through the front office area.
• Must be able to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 - 70 pounds on a regular basis; push and pull 70 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items on a regular basis.
• Excellent driving record as detailed by Insurance Company requirements. 
• Thorough knowledge of local roads. 
• Must be able to adjust to changing priorities.
• Bilingual or multilingual ability preferred.
