Summary

The Cook and Food Service Host will assist in opening the hotel's food and beverage outlet, the H Bar, for the first time. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Setting up the kitchen and food service area in an efficient and organized manner
• Greeting all guests (internal and external)
• Preparing and servicing buffet and menu items
• Ensuring all food preparation is done in compliance with health codes and standards
• Maintaining proper cleanliness standards of kitchen and public areas
• Cleaning dirty dishes and re-stocking the Guest Kitchen with clean items
• Managing food and beverage inventory, making sure that items are on a first-in, first-out basis to prevent waste
• Preparing and serving alcoholic beverages when needed
• Cleaning and sanitizing your work space, lobby tables and chairs
• Serving and bussing tables
• Organizing, cleaning and stocking food storage, walk-in refrigerator and freezer
• Taking inventory of all food and beverage items and place orders once approved by management
• Ability to serve a high volume of guests in a short period of time, while providing exceptional guest service
• Handling cash and credit payments in compliance with the hotel’s cash handling policy and PCI compliance
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Appropriately addressing guest concerns in a quick and efficient manner
• Ability to assist other departments as needed
• Assisting with meeting room setup and tear down
• Preparing food and beverage for meetings and servicing all catering related aspects
• May be required to assist with other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have schedule flexibility for morning, afternoon, evening, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight
• Previous experience in hotel food and beverage is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Micros POS system is a plus
• Professional appearance
• Must legally be able to pour and serve alcohol
• Hotel will provide TIPS and ServSafe certification
