Job Summary

In the midst of the beautiful Napa Valley winegrowing region is the Carneros Resort and Spa, a luxurious retreat nestled among 28 acres. The resort offers modern and sophisticated accommodations, amenities as well as food and wine experiences.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting in the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, supporting schedules, and the timely production of the bi-weekly payroll and other reports as assigned. The position assists in the management of a staff and will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in the AP, AR, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, annual auditing

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Property Management System (PMS) and POS system experience a plus
  • Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To comply with The Aimbridge Hospitality Mission Statement, Core Values and Service Absolutes.
  • To always maintain professional discretion and confidentiality, never discussing Accounting or Departmental Human Resources matters without prior knowledge of the Director of Accounting.
  • Supervision of Senior Staff Accountant and Staff Accountants.
  • Managing revenues received and dispersed including accounts receivable, accounts payable, General Ledger reporting.
  • Reconcile and prepare monthly Sales and Occupancy tax filings.
  • Review all ledger details guest ledger, city ledger and deposit ledgers to validate proper payment and revenue posting.
  • Monthly G/L account reconciliation, inventories, assist Director of Finance with timely monthly financial closings.
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliation and audit work papers.
  • Analyze revenues, commissions, and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately.
  • Credit card disputes and follow up.
  • Ensure correct taxation are applied on all billing systems and Point of Sale software's.
  • Completion of the bi-weekly payroll and verify payroll dollars and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately.
  • Assist Director of Finance with completing the year-end audit process.
