SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager prospects group programs for corporate, professional and social events through the successful contracting of guestrooms, meeting space, food and beverage minimums and other ancillary offerings with the underlying goal being of exceeding client expectations by creating a memorable experience for every guest involved.

An effective Sales Manager demonstrates world class customer service, excels at interdepartmental communications and proactively contributes to the successful operation of all business outlets as a brand ambassador to Shore Lodge, Whitetail Club and The Cove by generating and maximizing overall group sales profitability.

ABOUT YOU: You love all that McCall has to offer and it shows.  You are a passionate, growth-minded sales professional with a proven track record collaborating in and across team structures.  You are motivated by team revenue goals and performance expectations.  You have a passion for professional networking and building long term relationships that translate to profitable revenue opportunities.  You are ready and able to proactively market the hotel through effective revenue/yield management to achieve maximum ROI. You use your expertise to improve sales and marketing efforts based on group client and guest recommendations.

          WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Book profitable business for the resort
  • Customize group sales offerings with unique and memorable experiences that will, ultimately, deepen the Client relationship
  • Manage outbound and inbound sales leads to create new business opportunities through telephone and electronic prospecting and, where applicable, face-to-face interactions.
  • Promote special amenities and/or custom extras that will further enhance a stay
  • Proactively and clearly communicate all charges to clients when in the contract stage and up-sell resort services and amenities to guests
  • Draft and, once trained, negotiate sales contracts to benefit of the Company
  • Establish strong rapport with clientele; maintaining strong communication throughout the planning and event cycle
  • Maintain a strong client base and consistently book repeat business
  • Actively participate in various industry networking groups. This includes, but is not limited to, attending geographically appropriate trade shows, local and regional events and developing relationships with meeting planners and decision makers for associations/government agencies, etc…
  • Produce and report out on future business opportunities and any barriers to contracting, even if only perceived
  • Coordinate site tours and pre-cons for booked and potential guests through appropriate contacts and join, where needed
  • Work effectively with Lodging, Recreation, Convention Services, and Banquet Departments to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Execute and achieve designated sales plan
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Northwest market
  • Actively participate in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and to create booking opportunities
  • Evaluate each piece of business to ensure business can be properly serviced
  • Maintain strong awareness of hospitality trends
  • Provide general resort information to guests and handles client requests promptly and with a high level of accuracy
  • Keep current with all Shore Lodge, Whitetail, and The Cove products, pricing, positioning and strategies
  • Actively participate in the weekly RevMax meeting to review the sales effort
  • Interact with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Act with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

         WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 5 + years hospitality sales experience; resort sales preferred
  • Highly motivated and proven results driven experience
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong professional network and a proven ability to sell to peers and group contacts
  • Excellent knowledge of computer software and Microsoft products
  • Proven ability to deliver on sales goals
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Knowledge of Agilysys or equivalent software: Visual One, Golf Pro

compensation: 50,000 + Commission
