We are currently seeking an energetic, customer service orientated, outgoing, person to join our team at the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel.

The Front Desk Supervisor

Will supervise  the daily operation of the Front Desk and maintain the highest productivity, employee morale, and guest service as possible. Accommodate hotel guest by registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements and collecting payments from departing guests.

Responsibilities 

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels.
  • Verify all incoming reservations methods of payment and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation.
  • Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems.
  • Make and confirm reservations.
  • Issue and be responsible for confidentiality regarding room #’s and keys.
  • Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers.
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  • Understand and engage with guests regarding their comments or complaints, involving managers for assistance to resolve, as necessary.
  • Answer inquiries written or via telephone pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, ensure restocking supplies.
  • Plan, schedule or supervise the work of other employees as directed.
  • Monitor due outs and advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated or need to be physically checked to ensure all departures are accounted for.
  • Responsible for check-in and check-out, plus all special requests for services or information, in accordance with Marriott Brand SOP's.
  • Assists in training of new associates and maintains constant training of agents.
  • Become completely familiar with all hotel emergency procedures.
  • Works with desk agents to ensure smooth and professional services at the desk using shift checklists.
  • Represents the hotel in a gracious and professional manner; handles all guest questions and problems whilst safeguarding the interests and reputation of the hotel.
  • Must be flexible based on business needs.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Two (2) years of Hotel Front Desk Supervisory experience or 3 years as a GSA at a full service Hotel.
  • LightSpeed PMS experience a plus.  
  • Hotel experience a must!
