Our AAA Four-Diamond resort offers ski-in/ski-out access to Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows. Squaw Creek's dramatic lobby, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooks a cascading waterfall and the breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountains. 405 luxurious resort rooms and suites, complete with resort-style kitchenettes, fireplaces and LED flat-screen TVs, comfort guests with a "mountain meets modern" ambiance at our resort in Squaw Creek.

The primary responsibilities of the Security Officer will be to provide the most responsive, knowledgeable and courteous service by protecting not only the property but, also the safety of the guests and team members through observing, reporting and taking action. Our Security Officers respond in a calm demeanor for any/all emergency situations that may arise, i.e., medical emergency, guest disturbance, etc. As well, our Security Officers must:

  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to de-escalate possible volatile situations in a clam and respectful manner
  • Be observant in all areas inside/outside of the pool area for safety concerns or suspicious circumstances.
  • Use good judgment, reason and a calm demeanor when approaching situations involving guests. In the event of a confrontation separate the involved persons, work to deescalate the situation, and report to management.
  • Answer all guest questions and furnishes detailed information and knowledge of the facilities and amenities surrounding the resort.
  • Possesses knowledge and use of all radio communication procedures.
  • Reacts professionally and rationally in emergency and pressure situations.
  • Promotes and practices safety awareness and behavior, adhering to all safety standards.
  • Complete investigations and subsequent reports by asking questions pertinent to the situation such as; who, what, where why, how, etc. in order to gather sufficient details to thoroughly satisfy investigation/report requirements. Use a computer report writing system to complete reports, and be able to follow through/up on any given report.
  • Make constant contact with both customers/ team members to provide optimal service. This includes contact with various hotel departments in an effort to provide/obtain pertinent information needed for guest service, investigations, etc.
  • Ability to work with interruptions and to perform multiple tasks while remaining collected in high pressure situations.


Due to COVID-19 cleanliness protocols, this role now calls for new duties to ensure safety and cleanliness of frequent touch points and all colleagues must adhere to our COVID-19 prevention plan: wearing mask, temperature check and cleaning/disinfecting areas outside department.


  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to accurately communicate reports.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, outdoor, resort environment and effectively deal with guests, owners, management, and team members.  This position is regularly required to

  • sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the resort and pool deck
  • speak and hear; use hands to handle, feel
  • May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-75 pounds
