The VP of Franchise Openings and Transistions will be responsible for leading all Franchise Openings and Transitions globally. This role encompasses all brands in all regions and is directly responsible for ensuring all Franchise openings and transitions happen efficiently and effectively, ensuring Hyatt’s Brand Promise is instilled in the Hotel team. This role will coordinate and facilitate all required training for both the preopening and transistion process covering all functional areas within Hyatt.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Lead and coordinate all Franchise openings. This will require both long term and short term planning, and will require coordinate of both inhouse and external resources to ensure opening process is seamless for 3rd party management companies and owners.  
  • Lead and coordinate all Franchise transistions. This will require intensive short term planning, and will require coordinate of both inhouse and external resources to ensure the transistion process is seamless for 3rd party management companies and owners. 
  • Develop and maintain long term intergration of Commercial Serivces into opening process, with a specific focus on improving ramp for Hyatt Franchise hotels. 
  • Create and implement virtual opening platform with the goal of reinventing opening process in order to drive efficiency while at the same time ensuring Hotels opened equipped to deliver on Hyatt’s brand promise.  
  • Evaluate and synthesize opening process between FS and SS properties with a focus on removing redundancies and maximizing the utilization of both FS and SS opening team members. 
  • Develop field based team of certified “openers” for both FS and SS properties in order to maximize effectiveness of opening process. 
  • Develop and coordinate all traning needs in the preopening and transistion process. Role will need to ensure all training content is continuously updated to ensure Hyatt speaks with “one voice” across all functions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5 years of opening hotel opening and transistion experience
  • 10 years of corporate/multi unit oversight for major Hospitality company

Education

  • 4 – Year College Degree 
  • Educational emphasis on Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

  • None

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Fluent in Word, Excel, Powerpoint 
  • Knowledge of Hotel Operating systems preffered

Additional Comments and Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to operate in a fast-paced, complex corporate environment 
  • Ability to travel as required on a national basis (approximately 5-10%).
