If you are an undergraduate seeking an understanding of the hospitality industry, Hyatt offers a paid Internship Program that provides practical work experience and an introduction into Hyatt's culture and management philosophy.
This internship begins upon completion of the student’s Spring semester and will conclude following Labor Day weekend. Should candidates need to return to school prior to Labor Day weekend, they must be available to return for Labor Day weekend.
While Interns will hold one consistent position throughout their Internship, they will also have the opportunity to experience the following:
The Engineering Intern will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest room, meeting space, and front of the house areas. This position will also perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a windows based computer system. Ability to read blue prints and schematics is preferred, along with basic trouble-shooting skills. Good communication skills are necessary. Additionally, this position requires strong leadership skills, and a willingness to work different shifts as the demands of business dictates.
Our hotel features comfortable rooms, luxurious amenities, and on-site recreation and entertainment adjacent to McKinney Roughs Nature Park, an 1,100 acre wilderness area.
From corporate retreats to weddings, we host a wide range of special events here. Our creative and professional staff of experts organizes everything, from catering to entertainment to team building activities, and our guests are sure to find the perfect venue here. Guests can opt to use one of our gorgeous ballrooms, or schedule a less formal, outdoor affair. With Personal Preference Dining, guests can choose their own entrée when we cater their event. Our fine restaurants also have private rooms for intimate parties.
In their free time, our guests enjoy recreation right on the grounds of our hotel, itself. They can visit the spa, play golf at our championship-level facilities, or just enjoy a day of pool fun on a hot summer day. We organize horseback riding and river kayaking excursions both on our grounds and at the nature preserve, so everyone can enjoy exciting activities with the safety of trained and highly qualified guides. Guests can learn archery or trap shooting, and at the end of the day go stargazing. Guests who stay at our hotel gain a new appreciation of the Austin area.
