An Area Director of Sales for our Hilton Hawaiian Village & Hilton Waikoloa Village properties, leads the Group Sales Team for the development and execution of strategic Group Sales plan and initiatives for complexed hotels that maximizes profitability for the hotels in order to exceed budget, revenue and market share targets.

What will I be doing?


  • Manage and direct the Group Sales Team to secure group business (all segments) for both hotels with the goal of establishing long-term relationships with clients.

  • Responds to group sales inquiries, initiates new group inquiries, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clients, conducts site visits and answers questions, determines rates, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, services accounts and analyzes lost business for the hotels.

  • Develops sales plans and strategies with team to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Works with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff. Manages the financial aspects of business travel (i.e. forecasting, budgeting, etc.)

  • Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.

  • Administer the staffing, training and performance reviews for the Sales Department. Ensure training programs are conducted regularly and Hilton’s standards of performance are met relative to established goals. Give guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.

  • Compiles and/or directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the weekly/monthly/annual Forecast using PEAK Performance Tools, Topline Booking Reports, DELPHI.fdc reports.

  • Prepare and present, on a monthly basis, the contribution, focus and activity of the proactive sales team to the hotel owners, regional team and senior management.

  • Cooperate with other departments in the hotel, particularly Reservations and the Banqueting Department, to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs.

  • Contribute to relevant management meetings to develop and implement sales initiatives.

  • Demonstrated previous experience in a Sales role with the proven ability to close a sale

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:


  • Knowledge of the local market

  • Knowledge of hospitality industry

  • A passion for sales and target-based performance

  • Relevant degree, in sales, business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution
