Job Description: Running/Supervising the front drive and guest service areas to ensure that Valencia Hotel Group’s standards are upheld. Ensuring guest satisfaction is met, delivering the best guest experience. Play an active role in creating a safe and efficient work environment.

Work Environment: 

  • Interior of hotel in all areas of hotel as needed, including front desk and guest services areas and meeting spaces

  • Exterior of hotel will be where primarily job duties are carried out with exposure natural elements to include hot and cold temperatures and weather conditions and Non-climate-controlled areas.

Physical Requirements:

· Standing/Walking: Constantly. For varying lengths of time, with little or no sitting. Running and jogging off and on throughout their shift.

· Stooping (Bend at waist): Load/unload guest luggage and bell carts.

· Pushing/Pulling: Bell carts weighting up to 150 pounds.

· Lifting/Carrying: Guest luggage weighting up to 80 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage guests whenever possible to ensure quality of service is upheld and recover their confidence in the hotel.

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

  • In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

  • Properly complete department checklists

  • Resolve any guest and/or associate issues incurred during the shift in a professional and thorough manner, communicating effectively as appropriate.

  • Monitor peer, associate, and guest feedback and initiate effective measures to correct operational procedures and / or employee development to mitigate continued issues.

  • Any other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

  • Responsible for performing wireless remote curbside express check in and checkout and following procedures for checking in and out vehicles.

  • Using the Flash Valet functions to fullest potential to include taking pictures of all incoming vehicles

  • Ensure overnight valet charges are posted to capture revenue

  • Unload baggage from vehicles and or taxis

  • Open entrance doors for all guests

  • Answer questions and offer information and assistance

  • Setting up transportation for guest (taxi cabs)

  • Take care of all equipment assign to them while working their shift (iPad, tablets, radio’s, telephones, computers, and other work-related items)

  • Ensure charges and posting are processed to secure revenue prior to a guest’s departure,

  • Keep work areas clean and organized

  • Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees

  • Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately

  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions

· Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor

Essential Duties:

· May need to assist with emergency concerns/issues that may arise (for example: noise complaints)

· Work closely with the overnight team and communicate frequently to ensure safety and security of the hotel, guests, and team members.Effectively and efficiently park customer vehicles

· Return customer vehicles upon request in a timely fashion

· Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor and willingness to help

· Observe safety precautions always

· Greet arriving and departing guests.

· Escort incoming hotel guests to rooms.

· Assist with transportation and handling of luggage.

· Offer information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest, directions, and dining options.

· Explain hotel amenities and features of room, such as operation of radio, television, climate control, and how to place telephone calls.

· Inspect guest's room to ensure furnishings are in order and supplies are adequate upon guest escort.

· Deliver packages, luggage, and other guest belongings.

· Deliver fax messages, emails, laundry, and runs errands.

· Call taxis for guests.

· Serve as alternate or additional valet, bellman, or doorman when required.

· Complete errands as requested by Valencia Services and other Hotel Valencia departments.

· Adhere to Hotel Valencia standards for guest service.

· Report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.

· Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Develops working relationships with vendors, contractors, city officials and others to ensure the best interests of the hotel are a primary focus.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent education required.

  • Prefer hotel experience and background.

  • TABC Certification
