About This Job

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the operation and staff of the Food and Beverage, Rooms and Security departments, through effective communication and teamwork to consistently deliver outstanding guest expectations for service, cleanliness and value.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the Managing Director with the effective management of all hotel functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing the guest experience.
  • Assist in the management of the property budget, forecast, capital expenditures and monthly reporting.
  • Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of the various food and beverage, rooms sub-departments and security.
  • Ensure that guest service standards are developed, met and maintained to consistent levels of excellent guest service.
  • Review Guest Service Scores, guest comments, Trip Advisor reviews and other customer service avenues every day and partner with Department Heads to respond immediately as appropriate.
  • Participate in the hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing and disciplining of all staff with the support of their operations management team.
  • Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the operation of all F&B outlets and Rooms Departments to achieve a profitable result.
  • Support the sales team by greeting potential clients during site inspections and knowing key account executives and business base
  • Conduct and/or attend operational meetings to maintain favorable working relationships between employees and promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency.

For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Director of Operations in the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ability to speak, read, write and communicate in English to adequately perform the duties of the job. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Excellent technical skills to include MS Office Suite, Opera, Dephi and Aloha.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive material with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including a pleasant and positive personality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in high stress well in stressful.
  • Long hours are required at times; must be able to stand for long periods.
