The Chief Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of all accounting processes at the hotel and report directly to the Director of Finance.  This position will manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting, and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning and cash management.

More specifically, job duties included, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day finance and accounts operations including Daily Report, IJ review, Opera postings, etc
  • Support the Director of Finance with budget and forecasting
  • Organize and oversee month and year end closing, preparing recurring journal entries and coordinating with other departments for review of their financial P&L
  • Responsible for overseeing reconciliations monthly along with shared services
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable needs
  • Manage troubleshooting for respective special reporting and analysis projects
  • Assist with ownership financial reporting

  • Two years accounting experience preferred
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting system use (Oracle Preferred)  
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact at all levels
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Work experience with Symphony, Opera and Oracle is highly regarded and/or ability to learn new hotel systems in a timely manner
  • Flexibility to assist with operations
