JOB SUMMARY

The Housekeeper Supervisor will work closely with the General manager ensuring the effective operation of the hotel including keeping all areas clean and well maintained.

JOB DUTIES

  • Adheres to all companies' policies and procedures.
  • Inspects guests' rooms, public access areas, the outside grounds, the commercial laundry area, all back of the house and housekeeping related storage areas for cleanliness/organization/appearance.
  • Cleans rooms, occupied and vacant, as needed to complete detail projects and support the housekeeping team on busy days.
  • Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment needed for operations.
  • Collects soiled linen to clean, wash, distribute and store clean linen.
  • Verifies that all rooms vacated due to check-out appear on housekeeping list.
  • Ensures that each section scheduled for cleaning Monday-Thursday is properly assigned to housekeepers.
  • Coordinates and conducts associate training and development.
  • Perform duties outside of normal job responsibilities as requested by supervisor.
  • Maintains visibility and availability to guests and Westmont Hospitality Group associates.
  • All Associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in Associate handbook).
  • Adheres to all companies' policies and procedures.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and rules
  • Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
  • Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent and graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to utilize the property management systems.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software programs with the ability to easily maneuver efficiently and accurately through software to complete tasks
  • Possess and demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate problems, issues, or challenges and develop, investigate, and implement solutions to resolve these challenges.
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand and move throughout, from, and to office, and continuously performs essential job functions.
  • Lifting up to 45 pounds maximum.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
  • Frequent to constant standing, walking, and using hands to fingers to feel/touch.
  • The employee is required to push housekeeping and linen carts weighing up to 25 lbs. and to climb stairs.
  • The employee is required to be exposed to chemicals and solvents and must demonstrate good physical and visual observation skills.
