Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and recommend sales strategies, room mix, and pricing
  • Monitor pickup and the status of the hotels throughout the day. Adjust rate strategy and inventory controls and communicate to the strategy and hotel team
  • Communicate with hotels on a daily as well as weekly basis via weekly revenue calls, one of strategy calls, forecast/pick up meeting, etc.
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing on strategies for negotiating and booking optimal group & catering business. Manage hotel’s function space to optimize room and F&B revenue potential
  • Daily management of group pricing optimizer and function space inventory
  • Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for long periods of time, as well as host video/conference calls presenting screen shares
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and pivot efficiently from one task to another. Interruptions should be expected on a daily basis as there is no real “down time” to complete projects uninterrupted.
  • In depth review of each hotel at a minimum bi-weekly, making rate changes by DOW, tier, channel, room type, LOS, etc. using data from RMS systems and analyzing rate shops and other reporting tools
  • Engage in the annual BT pricing process. Provide data analysis of production trends and pricing guidance to hotels to ensure alignment to annual revenue goals.
  • Update top line forecast weekly going out 60-90 days. Prepare weekly operational rooms forecast
  • In partnership with DOSM’s prepare Annual Budget Plans
  • Monthly review of rates and inventory for next 365 days for all hotels
  • Provide necessary displacement evaluations, business evaluations, and guidance on RFPs
  • Build group blocks, manage, and communicate group cut off dates and complete rate load requests in a timely manner upon request from the properties
  • Review weekly STR performance for hotels – be able to articulate performance  
  • Manage OTA extranets, market managers, content, strategies, promotions, online presence etc.
  • Attend and participate at all weekly scheduled calls and prepare required reporting
  • Ensure all hotels are selling appropriate rates at all times
  • Sets example through professional, friendly attitude towards clients and co-workers, timely response to clients and co-workers and observance of sales office standards
  • Analyze sales and revenue management reports to identify trends and future demand opportunities. Monitor pricing, MAR/GPO and other minimums to ensure pricing is within an acceptable range based on available inventory, current sales/revenue strategies and market demand
  • Provide pricing and guidance recommendations to sales staff, review and approve any special corporate negotiated rates
  • Responsible for learning the hotel brand and strategy
  • Develop a complete knowledge and ensure adherence to company sales policies and SOP
  • Responsible for obtaining appropriate approvals for contracts per SOP (airlines, major sporting events, etc…)
  • Understand, leverage, and implement corporate and brand tools to exceed budgets
  • Conduct ongoing competitor price and product analysis to ensure proper rate positioning and product offering relative to competition
  • Conducts weekly and monthly share analysis for measurement of hotels market performance versus competition and implements strategies accordingly

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, or Marketing
  • Minimum of 5 years in progressive hotel sales with leadership responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical skills relative to impact on hotel revenues
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Training and knowledge of full-service Marriott’s revenue, sales, and property systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles
  • Ability to use reservation and revenue management systems to develop pricing & sales recommendations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, focus on Excel, Word and Outlook Ability to travel as needed
  • Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
