GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under general supervision, coordinates the activities of the lounge and dining room personnel with the seating of patrons in a manner that will ensure prompt, courteous service.  Reports to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor on duty.

Essential Functions:

• Schedules dining reservations, arranges parties and/or special services for diners.
• Checks Membership Cards
• Greets Members and/or guest, escorts them to tables and provides menus.
• Responds to general questions.
• Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness.
• Answers telephone, receives inquiries and responds appropriately, records take out orders, and/or refers caller to personnel as requested.
• Keep the Reservations book up-to-date.
• Inform Members/Guest about any Island or Shoals Club functions.
• Learn member’s names.
• Keep host area clean and keep all menu’s and wine list organized.

Additional Functions:

• Buses tables, sets tables and serves guests.
• Assists wait personnel as needed.
• Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Ability to read and write English, some previous experience dealing with the public preferably in a restaurant, and possess good oral communication skills; or an equivalent combination of training and experience to provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities.  Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.

Must be a minimum of 16 years (applicants under 18 must provide Work Permit)
