This entry level position is perfect for some-one launching a new career in hotel food and beverage or looking to have a whole new career path for life. This person is responsible for organizing, preparing, and cooking all food items in assigned stations for banquets and restaurant meals as well as dish-washing and general kitchen cleanliness. This is a hands on "jump into the trenches" opportunity for those who crave hard work and daily rewards of happy guests and fellow team mates. The Prep Cook/Steward s required to adhere to the mission and values of Widewaters Hotels.

What you will be doing

Prep ingredients, cut vegetables, learn how to butcher meats and support the hot line cooks and chefs

Stock walk in refrigerators and freezers with new product, rotate the inventory to ensure freshness and food safety and follow all directions of supervisors

Manage the dish-room and clean guest dishes, utensils, pots and pans

Learn and manage salad preparations, packaged foods, sandwiches

Work hot line when needed and prepare sauces and entrees as training to Line Cook

Requirements

Some working knowledge of food preparation, cleaning, reading and writing recipes and order forms
Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers
High School Degree or Equivalent. Degree from Culinary Program preferred Minimum of 6 months experience in food preparation.
Ability to compute basic arithmetic and to comprehend and follow recipes with the appropriate cooking techniques.
