About This Job

Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects. Responsibilities will also include caulking on both the interior and exterior of the building and cleaning and moderate touch-up of EIFS surfaces.

Essential Functions

  • Apply paint to surfaces including drywall walls/ceilings, doors, and cabinets.
  • Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
  • Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
  • Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
  • Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
  • Calculate amounts of required materials to complete painting projects.
  • Select the proper type of paint/finish for the specific application.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
  • Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
  • Cleaning and touch-up painting of EIFS surfaces around the outside of the building.
  • Clean up after the project, including all equipment used in the application process.
  • Utilize spray guns for large jobs.


    • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
    • Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
    • Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
    • Previous experience with patching holes in EIFS is a plus, but not required.
    • Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
  • Conscientious with great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of work safety and OSHA regulations

Work Environment

This job operates in an active and loud environment. Work will occasionally be required inside the Indoor Waterpark which is a hot/humid environment.

Physical Demands
The Associate is required to constantly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. Constantly required reach and grasp. The Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls. Excellent dexterity is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with various work hours and days, based upon business needs. This position may include weekend and/or holiday work depending on business needs.

Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma preferred but not required.

Proven experience as painter.
