About This Job

Job Summary:  The Line Cook is responsible for maintaining, setting up, producing, and controlling the quality of food items prepared according to specification.

Responsibilities:  

  • Follow recipe cards and/or product specifications for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, and serving meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food for consumption
  • Visually and physically inspect food items to ensure they are of the highest quality for consumption
  • Utilize a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables, trimming and cutting of meat, poultry and fish for use
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, i.e., choppers, mixing machines, slicers, steamers, grills, etc
  • Control food waste, loss, and usage per hotel policies and procedures
  • Maintain standards of sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen, restaurant utensils, equipment, and the kitchen area
  • Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and lines set up.  Note any out of stock items or possible shortages
  • Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift
  • Perform duties, special assignments, and projects as requested by management

Requirements:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a related position
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag
  • Required to stand, walk, balance, reach, push, pull, talk, hear, see, smell, taste, and perform repetitive motions
  • Required to exert up to 50 lbs. of force and lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
