What you'll do

Main responsibilities as BARBACK:

This role requires the following responsibilities, which include but are not limited to;

  • Barback is responsible for supporting the bar team and occasionally floor team
  • Maintain a clean work environment at all times
  • Prepare and clean bar tender tools and position them correctly ready for use
  • Restock bar products, garnish trays, and ice bins as necessary throughout shift
  • Assist in the receipt, transport and storage of beverage products.
  • Cut fruit and garnishes to specifications for use in cocktails.
  • Empty trash cans to maintain service and sanitation standards.
  • Weekly cleaning and sanitisation of ice machine
  • Wash and polish all glassware from bar and floor
  • Restock all glassware and Handle glassware with care to avoid any breakage
  • Clean up breakages of glassware or any other dirt on floor areas as requested
  • Record all glassware and stock wastages accurately
  • Make and deliver hot drinks in timely manner to tables in line with brand standards
  • Do weekly check of supplies to be ordered
  • Adhere to all Department and Company Policies and Procedures
  • Appearance must be clean, tidy and to adhere to brand standard at all times

Main responsibilities as KITCHEN PORTER:

This role requires the following responsibilities, which include but are not limited to;

  • Kitchen Porter is responsible for supporting kitchen chefs and bar/floor teams
  • Maintain a clean work environment at all times
  • Clean/wash and dry dirty crockery in dishwasher or by hand
  • Handle crockery with care to avoid breakages
  • Restock crockery to the correct position in kitchen and Collect dirty pans from chefs
  • Follow any instructions given by kitchen team
  • Make sure the dishwasher runs at correct temperatures at all times
  • Checks and refills all chemicals and cleaning supplies in kitchen area
  • Do weekly check of supplies to be ordered
  • Regularly mops kitchen floors and Clear up breakages or spillages on floor as requested
  • Empties trash bins regularly, and Wash and sanitise trash bins
  • Flush and clean floor drains
  • Clean dishwasher and Clean coffee machine if requested
  • Cleans and sanitises all kitchen equipment, surfaces and drains as requested
  • Deeps cleans kitchen equipment and surfaces after service
  • Regularly checks and restocks Canteen for sufficient crockery & cutlery during meal times
  • Exercise efficient communication to kitchen, floor and bar staff
  • Abide by the policies and procedures as set out in any other applicable policies

As per business needs and at the request of direct supervisor and/or management, the talent could be required to perform other tasks outside of those listed above.

  • Possess a good command of English
  • An excellent verbal manner and proven customer service skills
  • Good knowledge or experience of the hospitality industry
  • Good organisation  skills with an attention to detail
  • A team Player with flexible & positive attitude
  • Hardworking and consistent
  • Previous experience in bars
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in complaint handling
  • Passion for the hospitality industry
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment & remain calm under pressure
  • Previous brand experience or knowledge
  • Flexibility to move seamlessly between departments and various roles if/when needed
