Hotel Front Desk / Guest Service Representative

We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd Shift Full Time Guest Service/Front Desk agents for a busy property in St. Charles, Illinois. Looking for highly engaged people with the focus to develop their careers in hospitality.

About This Job

The main functions of the Guest Service Agent / Front Desk are to check guests into and out of the hotel, and operate the switchboard to ensure efficient communication within, to, and from the hotel. The Guest Service Agent must maintain a welcoming attitude and welcome all service questions and requests. The Guest Services Agent is directly responsible for the prompt, efficient, and courteous check in and check out of guests, collecting monies for services rendered during a guest stay, routing all calls appropriately and politely, taking messages accurately, handling fax transmissions appropriately, and for meeting many other guest needs during their stay.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner & maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk
  • Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard and ensure that all United Hospitality performance standards are met.
  • Handle requests for information, mail and messages in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Answer guest inquires about hotel service, facilities and hours of operation, as well as answer inquires from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions; Be familiar with all in house groups; Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
  • Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate quoting scenario.
  • Have knowledge of and assist in emergency procedures as required.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.

The Hilton Garden Inn St. Charles is looking for "A" players to join our Team. We currently have 1st and 2nd shift Full Time positions available. It all depends on performance if you are a rock star at service we will find the hours for you to grow into a Full Time position. Shifts very depending on business demands, but you must be available to work a flexible schedule. Please keep in mind when applying for the position that we are open 365 days a year and you must be available to work weekends and Holidays.

Required education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Preferred, but not required, experience:

  • Customer Service: 2 years
  • Problem Resolution: 1 year
