The Lifesaving and Care Specialist works with a dynamic group of animal advocates to facilitate pet adoptions and oversees the health, well-being and care of pets at the Best Friends Salt Lake City Lifesaving Center. A typical day includes creating a welcoming experience for clients looking to adopt, matching eager pet parents to their perfect pet through lifestyle matching and adoption counseling, working with adopters to troubleshoot any issues, and providing post-adoption expertise. In addition, specialists will mentor and support center volunteers through classroom and hands on training working towards building a skilled volunteer workforce to provide care and attention to the animals at the Lifesaving Center.
Lifesaving and Care Specialists work within a team setting to oversee the health, wellbeing, and general care of cats and dogs at the Lifesaving Center. They have a unique role as the direct day-to-day connector between the animals in our care and our supporters. As such these specialists represent Best Friends through in-person work, conversations, advocacy, and other activities.
