About This Job

The purpose of this position is to insure the general upkeep and maintenance of the hotel’s physical structure, equipment, office systems, parking, security and surrounding environment to meet health and safety standards, as well as state and federal legal requirements. 

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all building operations, maintenance and major repairs in compliance with applicable city building codes and requirements. This includes HVAC, Roof, Electrical, Plumbing and Cameras.
  • Insure all city permits and inspections are secured in compliance with legal requirements. (fire, police, parking, elevator, irrigation systems and lighting)
  • Ensure building compliance for all City facility, property and liability insurance audits.
  • Serve as liaison for the Fire, Police and for all issues relating to City street closures, maintenance, safety and security issues.
  • Coordinate and oversee all company staff training activities for safety, security, evacuations, building lockdown, gun safety and code compliance.
  • Develop budgets and track short-term and long-term facility expenses, equipment and resource needs of the hotel.
  • Ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act and Right-To-Know Law.
  • Schedule and conduct department staff meetings (monthly or as needed) and conduct special training on communication processes for life safety/emergency situations.
  • Assist with special events Security coordination and execution; facility, vendor and catering services delivery and communication.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and 7-10 years of job-related experience in property management and facilities maintenance supervisory position in hospitality or similar industry.

  • Experience in law enforcement and/or three years security management.

  • Knowledge of current city, state, and federal laws/ordinances.

  • Must be able to understand and apply complex mechanical systems including HVAC, Mechanical/Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Drywall / Tile, Chillers, Boilers and basic construction.

  • Experience in managing budgets and in implementing professional development programs and training of personnel.
  • Excellent knowledge of building services, facility management and loss prevention 
  • Ability to effectively manage professional staff, develop good relationships with a wide range of people and build a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to solve problems in a strategic and tactical manner and use good judgment in making decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, use self-initiated follow-up to meet deadlines and proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must be CPR and First Aid certified
