The SMERF Group Sales Manager, reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, is responsible for the SMERF Group Sales function of the hotel; interacting with clients and direct solicitation efforts in securing business while striving to exceed all guest / client expectations.

The professional we seek should be a good communicator, have good leadership skills to represent the company, be pro-active, loyal, reliable and hard working.  We seek to create a sense of place that will insure, inspire and motivate the overall sales teams to meet and exceed pre-determined booking goals quarterly / annually.

Position requirements include, but not limited to;

  • A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated ability in hotel sales.
  • Experience in revenue proposals, sales forecasting and revenue management
  • Experience in being a contributing member of the sales team
  • Experience with customer, travel agency, and tour operators distribution channels and networks.
  • Knowledge in the retail and wholesale tourism and travel industry.
  • Strong skills to participate as a member of the team to achieve a high level of performance and exceed targets.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
  • Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events

Highly desirable skills include;

  • Experience in Marriott Hotels
  • Experience of Dual Brands
  • Experience with an independent operator
  • Experience with Group Sales Markets
