Job Description Summary

To insure staff of housekeeping department cleans and maintains guest rooms and public areas in accordance with client/guest expectations and Hotel standards of product and service by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Obtain list of vacant rooms which need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check outs in order to prepare work assignments.
  • Assigns workers their duties, and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Advice manager or desk clerk of rooms ready for occupancy.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Issues supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine need for repair or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
  • Conducts training of new employees to explain housekeeping work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Attend training seminars to perfect housekeeping techniques and procedures, and enhance supervisor skills.
  • Attend all executive staff meetings in the absences of the Director.
  • Provides excellent guest service to both guest and internal clients.
  • Must comply with all applicable ACCRS and SRC internal controls, standard operating procedures and Tribal Regulations. Documents and reports all exceptions/variations/deviations immediately upon awareness.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3-5 years hotel housekeeping experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.  Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.  Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.

Additional Information

Applicants must already be authorized to work in the US and must be able to obtain and maintain a casino license in the state of California.
