Stanford Hotels Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior G/L Accountant to join their team!

The Senior G/L Accountant is a member of the accounting team whose primary responsibility is the monthly close activities and supporting the consolidation and reporting processes. The successful candidate should have the experience to be able to close the G/L for any entity, may assist with consolidated entities’ financial statements if needed and support other accounting/reporting projects. The Senior G/L Accountant should be able to assist with other assigned tasks/duties including routine functions of Accounts Payable and Payroll. This position reports to the Corporate Hotel Controller. This is a full time position and located in Charlotte, NC.

JOB DUTIES

  • Record daily cash activity and weekly/monthly entries for the month end close in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 and Online Bank Portals including bank reconciliations for selected entities
  • Review for accuracy the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements. Prepare adjusting journal entries for review/approval.
  • Work with auditors and respond to auditor inquiries for financial statements and for tax matters
  • Assist the Accounting Team with other ad-hoc projects as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years accounting experience including general ledger close, showing ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Prior corporate accounting experience closing multiple entities
  • Solid knowledge of all areas within the Accounting Department - able to Review invoices for proper approval, code and input into the Accounts Payable system if needed, ensure compliance with Company purchasing policy & PO process, including conducting 3-way match process as needed, manage the 1099 process at year end, and process payroll for selected entities
  • Excellent Excel experience, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 or similar ERP. We use GP 2016 for most entities and MRI for business rental properties.
  • Strong organizational skill and attention to detail in preparing schedules including reconciliations
  • Proactive learner who enjoys solving problems and a variety of challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product
  • Provide technical expertise to assigned entities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction from manager
  • Accountants work a flexible schedule during periods of heavy activity. This may require working past standard business hours to include evenings and/or weekends to meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Hotel or commercial property accounting experience
  • FRX, Management Reporter application user experience
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements experience
  • ProfitSword cloud application experience
  • UKG / UltiPro payroll system experience
  • SharePoint experience
  • BirchStreet experience
