About This Job

Description

The Cage Manager supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting and verifying functions of all cash handling transactions in the cage for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Attend assigned training(s).
  • Write/Edit/Enforce Cage Policies and Procedures.
  • Confidentiality is a must with guest transactions and casino knowledge.
  • Compile composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
  • Determine work procedures, prepare and search records to assist subordinates in locating and reconciling posting errors and verify accuracy of transactions.
  • Responsible for all cash and cash equivalents within the cage.
  • Develops and implements all cash handling training for staff.
  • Keep control of operating funds and allocate operating funds to cashiers and other appropriate employees.
  • Total and summarize funds received, funds disbursed, endorse checks, and prepare bank deposit slips.
  • Prepare work schedules and expedite work flow.
  • Issue written and oral instructions.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Adjust errors and complaints with guests.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned. Read, understand and adhere to South Dakota Gaming Rules & Regulations, Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Gaming Rules & Regulations, Title 31 regulations, departmental policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Casino Wide Policies, NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards, and the Royal River Casino Handbook.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise employees in the Cage Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, reviewing performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Two (2) years college or technical school.
  • Two (2) years of accounting or cage experience with a minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FSSTCG Key License
  • Title 31 training

Sensitive Areas

Has access to Cashier Cage, vault, controlled form cabinet, accounting boxes, customer transactions and form dispensing machines.

Signatory Abilities

Cash Inventory, cashier summaries, cashier vouchers, coupons, gift certificates, Controlled Forms, receipt books, Jackpot/Fills slips, Black Jack Fill/Credit slips, key logs, cash advances, buys slips, and miscellaneous transfers.
